New apple products hitting the market

Tech giant Apple has launched a blitz of new products, with the company planning on releasing the Apple Watch in addition to the recently released iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Apple announced their smartwatch Sept. 9, promising to make it available early next year. That same day, the corporation unveiled two new cell phone models, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. Over 4 million of these were pre-ordered in the day following the announcement.

The Apple Watch is Apple’s first entry into wearable technology, something the company’s CEO, Tim Cook, has called “ripe for exploration”. It will come in three distinct styles: a normal watch, a flexible “sport” style and the “edition” style, which comes complete with 18-karat gold plating. Hosting more features than a simple clock, the Apple Watch will allow users to communicate through their timepiece as well has having a set of fitness and health functions.

Apple’s next generation of iPhones arrived in stores Sept. 19 with an updated camera and screen resolution, along with faster wireless service and an updated fingerprint recognition system. The iPhone 6 will be sold at $199 while the iPhone 6 Plus will cost $299.

“I’m getting the new iPhone,” Jack Huffman, senior, said. “I just think it’ll be faster, and they’ve made really good changes.”
