Arabian Nights, this year’s freshmen and sophomore play, is the KH Players’ latest production and will be presented Jan. 29-31 at 7 p.m. in the Keating Theater.

The story is about a king who is betrayed by his wife and orders a death sentence on every woman in the country as revenge. To heal the broken kings heart, a clever girl named Shahrazad tells him stories night after night. The stories are fairy tales of the Middle East that include magic spells, thieves, puppets, talking birds, singing trees, and others.

The show stars a cast of 20 freshman and sophomore actors, along with 8 technical crew members working behind the scenes. Playing the lead roles are Cara Palombo, sophomore, as Shahrazad and Justin Sweeney, sophomore, as the king, Shahrayar. As for the rest of the cast, they will be playing 96 other parts throughout the show.

The show is an hour and 55 minutes long, including an intermission, and starts this Thursday, Jan. 29. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students and can be bought at the box office.
