KHS’s varsity softball team faced Parkway West Sept. 23. The Pioneers took a 2-1 victory over the Longhorns. “Some of the key factors that helped us win were communication and encouragement,” Julia Church, senior softball player, said. “Talking to each other about and during play is very important for getting outs. And having your teammates pick you up after you make an error or have a bad at bat really helps keep everyone up so that they can perform at their best the rest of the game.” The Pioneers hope to make a playoff run when districts start Oct. 5.
