The district has no authority over what happens at any of the hockey games because of it being a club sport. However they want to recognize the hard work that the players put in to prepare for the hockey games. Therefore, punishing the players by not allowing them to promote any games at school or on the announcements, for any misconduct of the fans is unfair to the players. Also, stationing a police officer at any of the games also has major drawbacks. Number one being, that it costs money to station a police officer anywhere, so the district would have to pay for that, and number two being, what would the officer do? Apprehend someone for being unsportsmanlike? Or yell at them for saying the other goalie sucks? Unless the district officially sponsors the hockey team, there is nothing they can, or should do to the current hockey environment.
