Beat of the Week: D.D. (Chi Duly Remix)

Beat of the Week: D.D. (Chi Duly Remix)

Beat of the Week is back on track after an extended hiatus.

To kick things off, this week’s track is off producer Chi Duly’s Balloons of Haus mixtape, offering his take on some of The Weeknd’s best tunes.

Even if you don’t know who The Weeknd is, everyone will find something to love in the action-packed 11 tracks of house music. Chi Duly explained in a recent interview that the mixtape is “house music for the “I’m not really into techno’ folks.”

D.D. (Chi Duly Remix) is one track in particular that brilliantly showcases Duly’s party revamping of the dark, ambient anthems of The Weeknd.

The remix is joyfully upbeat and glistens with sporadic samples of guitars, wobble bass and reverberating crashes. Duly even throws in a traditional house music build up, skillfully sampling the passionate croons of Abel Tesfaye throughout.

As with every Beat of the Week, it’s a free download that can be found at Chi Duly’s Soundcloud page, which you can reach by clicking here.
