With many new films being released in 2016, TKC decided to rank the top 10 upcoming movies from lowest to highest based on the anticipation of the films. Including everything from Marvel action flicks to ghost-hunting comedies, these movies are sure to entertain you.

10. Ghostbusters
Although there has been little information released to the public about this film, we do know that big names such as Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Chris Hemsworth will have major roles. Knowing these actors will appear, this is sure to be a laughable action film.

9. Independence Day: Resurgence
Returning to the big screen is the film Independence Day a film we all remember from 1996; this time it’s just bigger, better and more dramatic. With returning actors Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman, this film appeals to the older crowd, while adding actor Liam Hemsworth to the cast appeals to the younger audience.

8. Suicide Squad
The first of two DC films on this list looks at the darker side of superheroes on the big screen. With big name actors Margot Robbie, Will Smith and Jared Leto portraying iconic characters such as Harley Quinn and Deadshot, we are in for a treat.

7. Star Trek Beyond
Having many new faces added to this movie such as director Justin Lin and actor Chris Pine, critics are skeptical to it’s similarity to past films. Without returning director J.J. Abrams, skeptics wonder if the new film will relate at all to the past films in the franchise.

6. Captain America Civil War
Two Avengers going at it one-on-one, or, as seen in the trailer, two-on-one. Captain America, played by returning actor Chris Evans, goes out to find his long-lost friend Bucky who was seen in the last Captain America film, The Winter Soldier. Meanwhile, Tony Stark, played by returning actor Robert Downey Jr., disagrees with Captain America’s ways and they end up hashing it out with many new Avengers at their sides.

5. Finding Dory
With this film being one of the more kid-friendly films on this list, it’s also the only animated film on the list. Dory will still be voiced by Ellen Degeneres, who also voiced the friendly fish in the original Finding Nemo.

4. X-Men Apocalypse
X-men Apocalypse is the 8th film in the Marvel franchise and it features many returning actors such as Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence. With limited sightings of Wolverine in the trailers, it’s still unknown if he will have a large role in this film. What we do know is that this film will feature one of the most notorious villains in the Marvel universe, Apocalypse.

3. Deadpool
With Deadpool coming out in mid-February, it’s the first to be released in the theaters on our list. Returning actor Ryan Reynolds from Marvel’s X-Men Origins returns with a funny twist. Because of Deadpool’s sarcastic, filterless humor, this film is one of five R-rated Marvel films.

2. Star Wars Rogue One
Star Wars Rogue One is number two on the list simply because it’s Star Wars Rogue One. Because this film is not being released until mid-December, little is known about it. What is known is that Gareth Edwards will be the director instead of J.J .Abrams who directed The Force Awakens. We also learned that the film will take place between Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope.

1. Batman vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice
Brace yourself for the ultimate superhero showdown with Gotham’s Dark Knight vs. Metropolis’s Man of Steel. Because this is one of the biggest DC films of the decade, it trumps all other movies coming up this year. With actor Henry Cavill from Man of Steel playing the role of Superman and brand new DC actor Ben Affleck as Batman, it’s going to be a fight for the ages.
