  1. Eleven from Stranger Things– All you need to be this adorable character from the hit show is a pink dress, blue jacket, white knee socks, paper peter pan collar, nose bleed stain (we used red lipstick), tennis shoes and of course a box of eggo waffles.

  2. Ryan Lochte- To recreate this Olympic gold medalist’s infamous bathroom catastrophe you need swim goggles, a swim cap, a gold medal (we used yellow paper and ribbon), a black eye and the finishing touch: a ripped up toilet paper scarf.

  3. Brexit- A fun costume idea for a duo is to dress up as the heart breaking exit of the United Kingdom from the European Union. All you need is two paper signs, one person wear one that says European Union and the other wear one for the United Kingdom and be sure to break up all night at the party.

  4. Undecided voter- Election day is right around the corner and we all know those people who are still completely stumped about who they will elect. Why not go as them for Halloween? You’d have to wait another four years before you could do this one again. This laid back costume requires you to pause netflix and browse google for current presidential campaign’s slogans (or past ones such as Bernie Sanders) that look like stickers. Then simply print your political stickers out on paper/cardstock and stick or tape them on. Lastly, remember to act confused all night.

  5. Exploding Samsung Galaxy- One of the more haunting events of the year was the release of the Samsung Galaxy s7, which quickly went viral for its tendency to blow up in user’s pockets. This costume requires a tad more work but is sure to win any contest for creativity. You will need a burnt-looking pant pocket with a gaping hole. For our version of this look we took a sock and tore it up and made it look charred with black eyeshadow. Then we placed the sock in our model’s pocket so it resembled an inside out pant pocket. Next you will wrap your hand in gauze or toilet paper like a small cast to make it look like the phone exploded and burnt your hand. Then rough up your hair and dust on black eyeshadow sporadically around your face to create a charred look. Bam! Your costume is done. (No pun intended.)

  6. “Raspberry Beret”, Prince- In honor of Prince, an icon who died this year who is now being remembered for his famous music career, dress up like one of his viral songs. We dressed our staffer up as his song “Raspberry Beret”. All you need for this costume is to wear a raspberry colored beret. We also recommend you know the lyrics to the song.

  7. The Snapchat Dog Filter- When snapchat released their new filters in 2015, the world favored the dog filter. The only thing that outstood this filter was the feature added in summer 2016 that allowed two people to use the dog filter at once. This easy costume requires two people to look up the filter template, print it out on paper or cardstock, cut the ears and nose out. Then tape the ears on your forehead and nose on your nose and voila easy #bestcostumeofthenight! Boost the effect by sticking out your tongues for every picture.

  8. Unemployed Clown- The media blew up this year when people began to clown a little too much around the country. A safe and hilarious take on this fiasco is to dress up like an iconic friendly clown looking for a job. We chose to feature Ronald McDonald, McDonald’s recognizable mascot. We mimicked McDonald’s clown outfit with a yellow shirt overtop of a striped red shirt and a paper McDonald’s logo that we printed out, stuck on a pin and then on to our model’s shirt. Then we used red paper, a pencil, black marker, and tape to create the clown’s infamous mouth in the shape of a frown. We tied off the look by having our model carry a piece of paper as a fake Resume. Go around asking friends about possible job opportunities at the party.

  9. Pokemon Go Team Member- Do we really have to explain the significance of this costume? For our take on this last minute idea we made a staffer a member of the Pokemon Go team Instinct. You will need to print out a logo and tape it to any hat you have (a shirt works fine as well). Then wear a shirt that is the color of your team and carry around your phone so you can defend gyms all night.

  10. Ken Bone- If you are following this year’s presidential election, then you’ll recognize this iconic costume instantly. For Ken Bone’s look you need a white shirt peeking out of the top of a red sweater, glasses, khakis, and a cheesy mustache (we made our’s with makeup). We guarantee this costume will be recognized by at least one person at the party.

There you have it, fellow procrastinators. These are the best last-minute costumes for any event this Halloween. We hope you try out one of these ideas and earn your own best-costume award. We also wish you a safe and happy Halloween!
