The Bodyguard

Oct. 3-15, 2017

This romantic comedy is focused on superstar Rachel Marron, who has hired a bodyguard to protect her from a stalker. Their strictly-business relationship slowly blooms into something more as the two get to know each other. This musical features original music along with classic songs such as “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” and “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston. To top it all off, the show will be starring Grammy award nominee Deborah Cox.

 

On Your Feet!

This story of how Emilio and Gloria Estefan, Cuban-American pop artists, rose to fame cannot be missed. From their humble beginnings in Cuba to the top of the pop music industry, this show will have you dancing in the aisles to some of the most iconic songs of the past few years, including “Get on your Feet,” by Emilio and Gloria Estefan. This show is said to be uplifting and inspirational, by NBC-TV.

 

The King and I

Nov. 28 – Dec. 10, 2017

The famous romantic story between the king of Siam and a British school teacher in 1860s Bangkok is considered breathtaking and exquisite, according to the New York Times. As New York Magazine says, this show is “too beautiful to miss,”  featuring songs such as “Getting to Know You” and “Whistle A Happy Tune.”

 

School of Rock

According to Entertainment Weekly, “School of Rock” is “an inspiring jolt of energy, joy and mad skillz!” Based on the movie starring Jack Black, the show focuses on Dewey Finn, a wannabe rockstar and current substitute teacher. The show follows the journey of Finn turning his class into a rock band. Featuring 14 original songs by Andrew Lloyd Webber and an on-stage rock band made up entirely of kids.

 

The Color Purple

March 20- April 1, 2018

The 2016 Tony Award winner for Best Musical Revival is soon to be opening in St. Louis. This show features a score full of gospel, jazz, blues and ragtime music. This Pulitzer Prize-winning story follows a young woman on her journey to love and happiness in the south after struggling with childhood abuse and hardships.

 

Hamilton: An American Musical

April 3-22, 2018

“Hamilton” showcases the story of founding father Alexander Hamilton, a man that came from nothing who helped shape America to be what it is today. Told entirely through song, this show features hip-hop, rap and R&B music. With lyrics by Lin Manuel Miranda, if you can score tickets to this show, you are in for a treat.
