For most trick-or-treaters, the routine on Halloween night stays the same. You put on your costume, get together with a group of friends and go door-to-door asking for candy until the last porch light flickers off. St. Louis adds a different twist to this ritual: before adding another piece of candy to their supply, trick-or-treaters of all ages have to answer the inevitable question: “What’s your joke?” In order to secure more sweets, a quick and witty response is essential. While this tradition may come as a surprise to those not from STL, many KHS students are accustomed to having jokes ready to make for a memorable, candy-filled Halloween. Here some students’ favorite jokes:
