Their day starts early each morning, as their mom wakes up to get the family ready for the day before she leaves for her nearly 12-hour shift at work. By the time she gets home, she barely has enough time to do a few things around the house and check on her kids before going to bed and doing it all again.

“We easily went from a family of three to a family of five,” their mom said. “We only live in a two bedroom. It has been hard.”

When the pandemic hit, the family’s already tight financial situation worsened. Their washer and dryer burnt out at the beginning of the year, leaving them with no other choice but to go to the laundromat which adds up quickly. On top of that, the family is fighting to gain custody of the dad’s child who is currently in Florida.

“My husband and I both work, [and] he is currently at a temporary job,” their mom said. “Ever since [COVID-19] hit, a lot of [financial difficulty]  has been going on.” 

The one thing keeping their spirits up day by day is the thought of a new arrival to the family. The family has a  baby due in December and that is something the family has been holding on to to get them through these tough times.

“Anything will help us,” their mom said. “We need everything. Anything people would be willing to give, we would just greatly appreciate it.”
