I don’t believe there was a better decision than my mom and dad signing me up for YMCA baseball at 3 years old. Since then I have made countless friends, memories and spent thousands of hours playing the sport I love.
Deciding between going to college for purely academics versus playing baseball was an immensely tough decision. It would be impossible for me to give up playing this sport when I knew I had the talent to continue; however, finding the right place in order to set myself up for post college was challenging.
After I committed to Berry College to play, I reflected a lot upon all of the memories I have made through the game. Whether it was my only true home run against the Gorillas with my orange Mako, getting my first varsity “start” against Webster or any other of my proud moments from the nearly 15 years I have spent playing.
All of these accomplishments would never have been possible without my family. Thank you to Mya for coming to watch my games even though you would almost always read a book. Thank you to my grandma who has managed to make nearly every single one of my games during my entire career. And most importantly, thank you Mom and Dad for signing me up to play and being my top supporters throughout my life.
