Cam Vennard Memorial Service at North Glendale Elementary

The fourth grade class at North Glendale Elementary, 765 N. Sappington Road,

is hosting a memorial service celebrating the life of Cameron Vennard on Friday, May 24 at 2:30 p.m. Cameron Vennard died tragically in a train accident in May 2012.

North Glendale Elementary sold yellow “Cam” bracelets with a picture of a guitar printed on them as a nod to Cameron’s love of music.  Cameron attended North Glendale from 2004-2009 and Nipher Middle School from 2009-2012.  The bracelet sales raised funds to purchase a plaque in honor of Cam. The remaining funds will be given toward the Cam Vennard Music and Vocal Scholarship Fund at Nipher Middle School.

Cameron was known for his love of music.  After Cameron’s passing, friends organized “Cam Jam,” a music festival in honor of him, the festival will again be held on Thursday, May 23 at Kirkwood Station Plaza. The money raised at “Cam Jam” will be used to continue the scholarship fund at Nipher Middle School to help students with financial needs be able to take music lessons.

North Glendale students, staff and members of the Vennard family will be at the memorial.  During the ceremony, Cameron’s father will speak, and the family will be presented with a plaque.  The ceremony will be held by the tree that was planted on the campus of North Glendale as a memorial to Cameron.
