The Kirkwood School Board (KSB) announced who will be taking former Superintendent Tom Williams‘ role after a year with former Nipher Middle School Principal Michele Condon as interim for the 2017-18 school year. After months of discussion and interviewing, the Board appointed current Deputy Superintendent of Eanes School District in Austin, Dr. Jeff Arnett to take the superintendent position at KSD starting July 1, 2018.

“[Dr. Arnett] has had a 30 year career in public education,” Darnel Frost, KSB president, said. “He actually started in the St. Louis area.”

According to Frost, Arnett’s previous careers in the education community include being a classroom teacher in the Fort Zumwalt School District, serving as a director of communication for Pattonville School District and Rockwood School District.

“He’s a very authentic person who cares deeply about the education of the whole child,” Frost said. “We’re hopeful that he continues to work well because it’s going to be great for the students here in our district.”
