KHS students participated in a student-led walkout at 10 a.m. March 14. According to @studentsdemandaction_khs students are standing up to the inactivity of our government combatting gun violence. Students walked from the senior hallway down to the stadium bleachers. Makenna Chappel, sophomore, said that it is important to walk out because this is a situation that directly impacts high schoolers. “We’re finally able to have this voice and are given a platform because of horrific events,” Chappel said. “We have had a tremendous amount of support from the students and if we get a lot of people to walk out then we gain more representation in legal ways. Our ultimate goal is discussion and representation of all voices.”
