Photo Gallery: Dogs of Kirkwood

There’s nothing that will bring you more joy than then the love of a dog. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, people have spent much more time with their canine companions. While some adopted dogs to keep them company through their quarantine, others have different reasons.

Rj Morgan, junior, and his family decided to adopt a dog in May of 2019. The family has benefited from adopting Hank, a 2-year-old pit bull lab mix.

“We got him because my brother was all alone during his chemo treatment at home,” Morgan said. “We got him so my brother could hang out with the dog.”

Dogs of Kirkwood: Levi
Two dogs from the K-9 Unit, Roscoe and Oscar, came to Kirkwood High School to search for illegal drugs on Feb. 16. The random search conducted by the Kirkwood Police Department took place during homeroom and lasted 20 minutes. They checked lockers and backpacks and coats that were put in the hallway, Dr. Michael Havener, principal, said. They were able to move around different portions of the campus. Its a random selection of the campus. We dont do the same spot every time, but we do certain areas and they did a wonderful job covering the campus in a reasonable amount of time and in an appropriate way.
