Police Beat: 4/22-4/28

On Monday, 04-22-2013, police recovered two boys’ bicycles. One was located in
the area of South Fillmore and East Rose Hill Avenue. The other was left behind a
home in the 100 block of S Geyer. Both boys’ bikes were brought to the station
awaiting owners.

On Monday, 04-22-2013 at 10:42 pm police arrested two subjects for possession
of narcotics in the 400 block of North Kirkwood Road. One of the subjects was
released on summons to appear in municipal court. The other was charged
with a felony and was released to another agency where there were outstanding
felony warrants for drugs and weapons.

On Tuesday, 04-23-2013 at 10:26 am police responded to a report of subject
stealing two bottles of liquor from a store in the 10400 block of Manchester. The
suspect left the area prior to the arrival of police. Police are investigating the

On Wednesday, 04-24-2013, a Kirkwood Police Department School Resource
Officer (SRO) at Nipher Middle School, 700 South Kirkwood Road, was notified
by Kirkwood School District employees that a student was reported to have
made two separate verbal threats of gun violence against two fellow students
and the school in general. An investigation by the SRO found no evidence that
the student had taken any steps to act on the threats made. The student was
removed from school property by the SRO and later transported to the St Louis
Family Courts juvenile detention facility. The juvenile case was referred to the
Family Courts of St Louis County.

On Thursday, 04-25-2013 at 12:14 pm police responded to a theft from a vehicle
parked at a construction site at Big Bend and I-270. The victim reported a
generator and blower taken from the bed of truck.

On Friday, 04-26-2013 at 12:38 am police responded to a residence in the 12700
block of Big Bend for a burglary report. A worker responded to the house which
was under construction and noticed several tools stolen from the house.

On Saturday, 04-27-2013, the Kirkwood police assisted the Drug Enforcement
Administration (DEA) with their bi-annual medication disposal at the Kirkwood
Police Department. This year Kirkwood Police Department turned over to
approximately 300 pounds of unused or expired medication for proper disposal to
the DEA.

On Saturday, 04-27-2013 at 7:27 pm police responded to a burglary in the 400
block of Alsobrook. Police received a report of unknown subjects inside a vacant
residence. The rear door was forced open but no one was located inside the
residence upon police arrival. Nothing was disturbed and police are investigating
the incident.

Kirkwood Police arrested four adults for shoplifting merchandise from area
businesses during the week of Monday, 04-22-2013, through Sunday, 04-28-
2013. The incidents occurred at businesses in the 10400 block of Manchester
and the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road.

From Monday, 04-22-2013, through Sunday, 04-28-2013, Kirkwood Police took
an additional eleven reports of identity-theft related to the Schnucks grocery
chain credit and debit card security breach.
