Police Beat: 4/29-5/5

On Monday, April 29, 2013 at 3:21 p.m. police received a report of a larceny
from a vehicle in the 100 block of West Monroe. The victim had placed her
engagement ring and wedding band in the center console of her vehicle while she
went to work. Later that evening she noticed the rings were missing. There were
no signs of forced entry to the vehicle.

On Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 11:06 a.m. police responded to the 200 block
of North Kirkwood Road where a report was taken for destruction of property.
Unknown persons spray painted graffiti on several locations on the building.

On Wednesday, May1, 2013 at 3:08 p.m. police responded to a business in
the 100 block of East Jefferson for a theft report. An employee of the business
advised a subject came into the store shortly after opening and stole a purse.
The investigation continues.

On Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 5:42 p.m. police received a report of destruction
of property to a vehicle that occurred in the area of I-44 and Big Bend. The
reporting party advised a subject threw a rock from overpass striking her
vehicle. Police responded to area and located the suspect responsible. He was
arrested for property damage. The case will be forwarded to the St Louis County
Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review.

On Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 8:18 p.m. police responded to the 1200 block of
South Kirkwood Road for a larceny from a vehicle. A laptop was stolen from the
rear seat of the victim’s vehicle.

On Friday, May 3, 2013 at 3:23 p.m. police took an identity theft report from
a resident in the 100 block of East Madison. The victim advised an unknown
person had used her name and social security number to open a Charter
Communications account.

On Friday, May 3 at 8:30 p.m. police responded to a report of a larceny in the
400 block of South Geyer. The resident advised the door to his storage locker
was broken and a 2010 Apollo mini bike was stolen.

On Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 12:40 p.m. a resident on Fortune Ln in Oakland
called police to report an unauthorized charge on his credit card account.
The victim discovered a fraudulent purchase for computer software made in
Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Kirkwood Police arrested one adult for shoplifting merchandise from an area
business during the week of Monday, 04-29-2013, through Sunday, 05-05-2013.
The incident occurred at business in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road.

From Monday, 04-29-2013, through Sunday, 05-05-2013, Kirkwood Police took
an additional six reports of identity-theft related to the Schnucks grocery chain
credit and debit card security breach.
