Police Beat: 9/9-9/15
On Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at 3:45 p.m. police received a report of a
theft of two spools of copper wire valued at $307.00. The theft occurred several
days prior and occurred at a business in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road.
On Thursday, September 12, 2013, at 12:43 p.m. officers handled a delayed
report of theft from a business in the 1000 block of South Kirkwood Road.
Numerous DVD’s valued at over $700.00 were taken sometime on Monday,
September 9, 2013.
On Thursday, September 12, 2013, at 6:58 p.m. a resident from the 100 block of
Oakside reported destruction of property to police. The resident’s vehicle had a
hole punched under the driver’s door lock. Entry was not gained to the vehicle.
On Friday, September 13, 2013, detectives arrested an adult from St Louis in
connection with a theft report filed on August 27, 2013. The original incident
occurred at gas station located in the 11100 block of Manchester Road. The
suspect pumped gas and left without paying. The case was referred to municipal
court.
On Saturday, September 14, 2013, at 3:41 p.m. police responded to a business
in the 100 block of West Argonne for a report of a stealing which had occurred
earlier the same morning. A blouse and pair of jeans valued at $260 were stolen
from the store.
On Sunday, September 15, 2013 at 10:16 a.m. police received a report of two
bicycles stolen from a residence in the 1200 block of Stonecrest. The bikes,
a white, pink, and black Huffy and a red Diamondback were stolen sometime
during the previous overnight hours.
Kirkwood Police arrested two adults for shoplifting merchandise from an area
business during the week of Monday, 09-09-2013, through Sunday, 09-16-2013.
The incidents occurred at a retail store in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood
Road. One subject was charged with felony stealing due to two previous theftrelated
convictions. The felony case was referred to state court. The other case was referred to
municipal court.
