Police Beat: 10/21-10/27
On Tuesday, October 22, 2013, police recovered a bicycle in the 700 block of
South Kirkwood Road. The bicycle was brought to the Kirkwood Police station for
the owner to claim it.
On Wednesday, October 23, 2013, beginning at 3:23 p.m. police received two
separate reports of vehicle break-ins. The first was reported in the 2200 block of
Marshall Road. The rear passenger window was broken but nothing was stolen.
The second was in the 500 block of South Kirkwood Road. A wallet that was
left on the floorboard in plain sight was stolen from the vehicle. The passenger
window was shattered in order to gain entry to the vehicle.
On Wednesday, October 23, 2013, beginning at 9:17 p.m. officers handled
a total of six larcenies from vehicles in the 100 block of West Jefferson and
eight additional larcenies from vehicles in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood
Rd. Numerous electronics, cash, wallets and debit cards were missing from the
vehicles.
On Thursday, October 24, 2013 police responded for a suspicious person call
in the 800 block of Craig. Police located the subject who was found to be in
possession of marijuana. The subject was arrested and the case was referred to
municipal court.
On Saturday, October 26, 2013 officers responded to the 400 block of South
Kirkwood Road for a report of three vehicles broken into. Electronics were stolen
from the vehicles. The driver’s doors appeared to have been tampered with to
gain entry into the vehicles.
Kirkwood Police arrested four adults for shoplifting merchandise from area
businesses during the week of Monday, 10-21-2013, through Sunday, 10-
27-2013. The incidents occurred at a store in the 11100 block of Manchester
Road and at a store in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road. The cases were
referred to municipal court.
