Police Beat: 12/23-12/29

On Monday, 12-23-2013, at 1:37 a.m. police responded to a motor vehicle

accident in the 400 block of South Holmes. One vehicle left the roadway and

struck a parked vehicle. No one was injured as a result of the accident. The

driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated- persistent offender due to

having at least two previous DWI-related convictions. The case was reviewed by

the St Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office who issued one count of driving

while intoxicated- persistent offender- against the adult driver.

On Tuesday, 12-24-2013, at 5:02 p.m. police responded to the 1200 block of

South Kirkwood Road for a larceny. The victim left her purse in a shopping cart

after loading her vehicle. She realized she did not have her purse when she

arrived home. She returned to the business to find the purse had been stolen

form the cart.

On Thursday, 12-26-2013, at 3:24 p.m. an employee of a Kirkwood business in

the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road reported a theft to police. The employee

left a cell phone unattended in a public area. When he returned the cell phone

was gone.

On Saturday, 12-28-2013, at 12:23 a.m. officers received a report of a possible

intoxicated driver in the 300 block of South Kirkwood Road. Officers arrived in

the area and located the driver after he had driven through an unpaved area to

exit a parking lot. The adult driver was arrested for driving under the influence

of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident. The case was forwarded to the

St Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review.

On Saturday, 12-28-2013, at 12:44 a.m. police responded to a business in the

11100 block of Manchester for a report of a subject attempting to purchase

alcohol with a fake ID. Police located the adult at a residence in Kirkwood after

an alert witness provided a license plate. The adult was issued a summons to

municipal court and the ID was seized.
