Police Beat: 8/25-8/31
On Wednesday, August 27, 2014 police received a report of a vehicle crash in
the 400 block of S Clay. Officers arrived and discovered one vehicle had struck
a parked vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for driving under the
influence of alcohol. The case was referred to the municipal court.
On Wednesday, August 27, 2014 police responded for a robbery at the Walgreens
in the 400 block of North Kirkwood Road. A male dressed as a female wearing
a wig, dress, and sunglasses, entered the Walgreen’s store. The male sought
out the manager, announced a robbery, and displayed a handgun. The male
suspect then escorted the manager and another employee throughout the store
to retrieve cash. The suspect fled the store on foot with cash. Officers were
in the area when the employees called police and noticed a vehicle leaving the
area. This same vehicle had been observed by officers earlier in the night in the
same area prior to the robbery. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but the
vehicle failed to yield to lights and sirens. The vehicle traveled through a few
side streets in Kirkwood, eventually ending up eastbound on Manchester Road.
The vehicle was stopped on Manchester Road, east of Berry in Rock Hill, with
the assistance of the Glendale, Warson Woods, and Rock Hill Police Departments.
One suspect fled from the vehicle but was apprehended within a few minutes.
The other two occupants of the vehicle were arrested at the vehicle. Officers
recovered the disguise in the vehicle and later recovered the stolen money and
handgun. An employee of Walgreens sustained a minor injury during a struggle
with the male robbery suspect but refused medical treatment at the scene. The
case was presented to the St Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office where a

1000 block of Spruce, St Louis, MO. The second suspect Quintez Taylor, 38 YOA,
3500 Natural Bridge, St Louis, MO, was charged with resisting a felony arrest.
Both were transferred to the St Louis County Jail. Clark was held on a cash bond
of $100,000. Taylor was held on a cash bond of $25,000. The third arrestee was
transferred to another St Louis area municipality for outstanding traffic-related
warrants.

On Thursday, August 28, 2014 police responded to a residence on Wildwood
regarding an attempted burglary. The residence heard someone knock on the
door, however did not answer. The suspects attempted entry to the residence,
however when the residence yelled, the suspects fled. The incident is being
investigated by the detective bureau.
On Friday, August 29, 2014 police received a report of destruction of property
to a vehicle report in the 1800 block of Briar Meadow Court. A rear window had
been broken out on the victim’s vehicle.
On Friday, August 29, 2014 police responded to the 10400 block of Manchester
Road for a theft by an employee. The employee was arrested and charged with
stealing. The case was referred to municipal court.
Kirkwood Police arrested two adults for shoplifting merchandise from an area
business located in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road during the week of
Monday, 08-25-2014, through Sunday, 08-31-2014. The cases were referred to
municipal court.
