Police Beat: 10/20-10/26
On Monday, 10-20-14, police responded to a destruction of property report in
the 200 block of Thomas. A van had a window broken out sometime over the
weekend.
On Monday, 10-20-14, police located an abandoned bicycle in the 500 block of
West Essex. The bicycle was brought to the station awaiting the owner.
On Tuesday, 10-21-14, officers received a destruction of property in the 100
block of Grand Avenue. A trailer, which was parked on the lot of a local business,
had a tire punctured.
On Wednesday, 10-22-14, police were dispatched to the 1700 block of West
Adams for a traffic crash. One vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole.
The driver of the vehicle was treated for minor injuries and arrested for driving
while intoxicated. The case was referred to municipal court.
On Thursday, 10-23-14, officers responded to the 700 block of Angenette for
property damage to a vehicle. The owner reported a window was broken out of
her vehicle and the car stereo was tampered with causing damage. Nothing was
stolen from the vehicle.
On Saturday, 10-25-14, a resident from the 300 block of North Woodlawn
reported a vehicle stolen from the driveway of the residence. There were other
vehicles in the driveway that were not tampered with.
On Saturday, 10-25-14, a bicycle was reported stolen from the 300 block of
Quan. A men’s mountain bike was stolen from the garage.
On Sunday, 10-26-14, a laptop and backpack was reported stolen from the 100
block of West Argonne. The victim had placed both items under a bench and
when he went to retrieve the items he noticed they were stolen.
