Police Beat: 3/16-3/22

On Monday, 03-16-2015, police received a report of a larceny of a bicycle from the 1200 block of North Clay. The hybrid bicycle was stolen from the driveway of the residence.

 

On Tuesday, 03-17-2015, officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the 600 block of Kirkshire.  Officers arrived and discovered one vehicle struck a parked vehicle.  The adult driver of the striking vehicle was not injured, but was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

 

On Wednesday, 03-18-2015, officer responded to a destruction of property report in the 300 block of New York. Graffiti was located on the concrete walls of the park.

 

On Wednesday, 03-18-2015, a residential burglary was reported from a residence on Silver Lane.  Police initially responded for an alarm call and discovered pry marks on the back door. The resident stated nothing was missing.

 

On Wednesday, 03-18-2015, police were summoned to the area of 100 block of North Kirkwood Road for a report of a motor vehicle accident.  One vehicle struck another parked vehicle and left the scene.  A witness to the accident recorded the license plate of the striking vehicle and provided the information to police.  Several hours later Kirkwood Police, along with officers from the Town and Country Police Department, arrested the driver for leaving the scene of an accident at a residence in Town and Country, Missouri.  The case was referred to municipal court.

 

On Thursday, 03-19-2015, officers responded to the area of South Fillmore and East Rosehill for a report of a vehicle stuck on nearby train tracks.  Officers located one vehicle on the tracks with the driver slumped at the wheel.  The driver was not injured but was intoxicated.  The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.  Train traffic was stopped temporarily until the vehicle could be removed.

 

On Friday, 03-20-15, police handled a destruction of property report in the 300 block of Wilson. A front window to a residence was damaged by a pellet gun.

 

On Friday, 03-20-15, a fraud report was filed by a business employee the police in the 100 block of North Kirkwood Road. A business credit card was used to make fraudulent charges for ITunes gift cards.

 

On Sunday, 03-22-15, police responded to the 100 block of West Adams for a destruction of property report. Someone had painted on the side of a building.

 

Kirkwood Police arrested one adult for shoplifting merchandise from a Kirkwood area business during the week of Monday, 3-16-2015, through Sunday, 3-22-2015. The incident occurred at a retail store in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road. The case was referred to municipal court.
