Police Beat: 10/19-10/25

On Monday, October 19, 2015, police were dispatched to the 2300 block of Timberview for a destruction of property to a vehicle. The driver’s and passenger side door handles were broken off of the vehicle in an attempt to gain entry. The vehicle was not unlocked and nothing was stolen.

 

On Tuesday, October 20, 2015, police responded to the 400 block of Colony Woods for a destruction of property to a vehicle. The passenger window had been shattered. Nothing was reported missing from the vehicle.

 

On Wednesday, October 21, 2015, police recovered a bicycle in the 1500 block of Lindgate. The bicycle was brought to the station awaiting the owner.

 

On Thursday, October 22, 2015, officers were dispatched to a larceny from a vehicle in the 1900 block of Dougherty Ferry. The window had been broken and the victim’s purse was removed from the vehicle. The victim’s identity was later used to obtain checks from the victim s bank and the checks were used in Chesterfield, Missouri.

 

On Thursday, October 22, 2015, police responded to several reports of property damage in the 900 block of South Kirkwood. Several vehicles on the lot of the business had been damaged by someone throwing rocks at them.

 

On Saturday, October 24, 2015, officers were dispatched to a business located in the 800 block of South Fillmore for a burglary. The front door of the business had been pried open and several tools were stolen from the business.

 

On Sunday, October 25, 2015, police recovered a bicycle and helmet in the 800 block of Couch. The bicycle was brought to the station awaiting the owner.

 

On Sunday, October 25, 2015, police were dispatched to the 800 block of Doerwood Ct for a larceny from a vehicle. A small amount of change was removed from an unlocked vehicle.

On Sunday, October 25, 2015, a victim from Eureka, Missouri, contacted Kirkwood Police to report an identity theft that occurred at a business in the 1000 block of South Kirkwood Road. A cloned credit card in the victim’s name was used to make a purchase for over $300.00.

 

Kirkwood Police arrested four adults for shoplifting merchandise from Kirkwood area businesses located in the 1000 and 1200 blocks of South Kirkwood Road and the 11100 block of Big Bend during the week of Monday, 10-19-2015, through Sunday, 10-25-2015. Three of the cases were referred to Municipal Court. The third case qualifies as felony stealing- third offense due to the suspect having at least two previous theft-related convictions. That case was referred to the St Louis County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
