Police Beat: 1/25-1/31

On Monday, January 25, 2016, police were called to a disturbance in the 500 block of Kirkshire. After further investigation, one of the residents was arrested and charged with domestic assault and animal abuse. The case was referred to St Louis County Prosecutors Office for review.


On Tuesday, January 26, 2016, a larceny was reported from a residence in the 500 block of Couch. A tablet device was stolen from the residence.


On Tuesday, January 26, 2016, police responded to the 400 block of East Bodley for a larceny from an unlocked vehicle. The victim’s purse was left inside the vehicle and cash had been stolen from the purse.


On Tuesday, January 26, 2016, police were dispatched to a larceny that occurred in the 800 block of South Kirkwood Road. Cash and a prescription bottle were removed from an unattended purse at the business.


On Thursday, January 28, 2016, officers were summoned to the 100 block of South Kirkwood for a report of theft. A maintenance employee reported several businesses had air-conditioning units either damaged or stolen since November of 2015.


On Friday, January 29, 2016, officers received a report of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of North Kirkwood Road and Jefferson. One vehicle struck the rear of another. The two drivers were not injured. One of the drivers was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. The case was referred to Municipal Court.


Kirkwood Police arrested one adult for shoplifting merchandise from a Kirkwood area business located in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood during the week of Monday, 1-25-2016 through Sunday, 1-31-2016. The case was referred to Municipal Court.
