The Kirkwood Call

Timeout: Little League World Series

Every day when I come home from school, I like to grab a bag of chips and watch some Sportscenter. But in the last few weeks I haven’t been able to do so. Lately, there has been coverage of 11-year-old “baseball players” hitting pop flies past their 15-foot fence. If you want to see a soft grounder to second base go through a fielder’s legs, then go watch a game of first grade tee-ball. These kids are ruining their arms and their future baseball career at the age of 12 for the sake of a game they won’t remember by the time they are 20. I just can’t wait for the day that I turn on the T.V. after school and don’t see Hawaii beating Wisconsin 17-2.
