Top 10 reasons why Kirkwood will win the Turkey Day Game in 2019

A few years ago, the Webster Echo staff decided to end the tradition of listing their top 10 reasons why Webster will win Turkey Day and declined to submit them this year. We will continue to invite them to honor this long-standing tradition going forward.

  1. Remember when the Ladue Rams won 23 straight games? Neither do we.

  2. Jeremy Maclin is a part of our coaching staff.

  3. We’ve had the Bell for six years, the longest streak in the history of the Turkey Day Game. Webster forgot what it looks like.

  4. 2016 state champs. ‘Nuff said.

  5. The turf at Lyons Field was renovated last winter. Webster still plays at … Moss Field.

  6. Cooper Wise shredded Webster’s defense for 75 points last year. Now it’s Kannon Nesslage’s turn.

  7. Varsity boys’ soccer already beat Webster this year. Twice.

  8. Will Lee was named first team all-conference as a linebacker and a punter, and second team all-conference as a wide receiver. He’s a triple threat.

  9. Coach Shelton is undefeated on Turkey Day.

  10. Zero wins in 2018.
