Turkey day hockey preview

Turkey Day break is coming up and so is the Turkey Day varsity hockey game taking place this Friday, Nov. 28 at the Webster Ice Rink at 12:30 p.m. The game between Webster and KHS has been a 110-year-old tradition, and KHS plans to make this Turkey Day game the best Turkey Day game yet.

“The crowd is always fun and always brings a lot of school spirit,” Adam Tackes, junior, said. “Our overall plan as a team is to beat Webster.”

According to Luke McNabb, senior, the best part about the Turkey Day game is that alumni come and support the KHS hockey team.

“It’s awesome to look and see past players, fans and friends coming out to support you in the stands,” McNabb said. “Next year, it will be me coming back to support the new team.”

The hockey team hopes for a big crowd at the game. According to Mitchell Drexler, junior, the team would have more momentum and a greater chance to win with most support from the bleachers.

“I hope Kirkwood brings it,” Drexler said. “It wouldn’t be a great Turkey Day game without the support of our fans.”
