Construction of the Walker Natatorium has been delayed.  Supposed to have been completed Aug. 17, the delay was prompted by 9 inches of rain in June and a 35-day masonry strike, Mike Wade, associate principal, said.

The privately-funded pool will be completed by the end of September. KHS is trying to get a temporary occupancy permit so swim practices and aquatics classes can be held.

“I can’t wait until it opens,” Wade said. “I go in and tour it once a week, and it’s amazing how big and pretty it is. The windows are going in this week. We’re getting close.”
