TKC: “What’s the funniest thing to ever happen to you as a teacher?”
“One year in Freshman Lit we were talking about Romeo and Juliet, and we were talking about certain scenes in Romeo and Juliet and the class decided they were going to talk about those scenes as ‘going to dinner’. So one time the kids asked me ‘what did you do this weekend?’ and I said, ‘Oh Mr. Adams and I went to dinner’, and they just burst out laughing and I started blushing and went ‘Oh no, no, no, that’s not what I meant!’.”
TKC: “What has been the saddest moment of your life?”
“Going through the struggles of foster care.”

TKC: “What rewards have come from teaching?”
“Helping each and every student achieve their goals and seeing them develop as mature young musicians and young people. Being just a little part of their lives. And hopefully they’ll see that I really did have the love and the care for each and every one of them and I tried to help them along the way. Hopefully, they’ll get that message and someone down the line, they can help somebody else.”
“My old next door neighbor in Texas had a crazy crocodile. I had to feed it when they were gone in India. I fed it a waffle and it nipped at my cousin’s arm and bit a chunk off his arm.”

TKC: “If you could give a large group of people a piece of advice what would it be?”
“Pay attention to what’s going on. Don’t zone out.”
TKC: “You’re a freshman, right? What’s the hardest part of being a freshman?”
“Well, it’s pretty easy. The hardest part is not zoning out in classes because it’s pretty boring.”
TKC: “What was the saddest moment of your life?”
“Probably when my second bird died. It died in my lap from West Nile Virus.”
