On Thursday, Nov.23, the Kirkwood Pioneers played against the Webster Grove Statesman for the annual Turkey Day Game. Ever since 1907, with a few exceptions, Kirkwood and Webster have played each other on Thanksgiving Day as a tradition in the community. This year Kirkwood won with a score of 65-13 and Kirkwood high school will be keeping the Frisco Bell for the 10th year in a row, excluding 2020 due to Covid-19. Creighton Wise, senior, shared his thoughts about the Turkey Day Game this year.
“It was fun carrying on the tradition,” Wise said. “[It was also fun] coming out with a victory and [playing] the last game with the guys.”
