Halloween grab bag

With Halloween approaching, KHS students were asked about their favorite parts of Halloween to get the students opinion of Halloween for the Kirkwood Call website.

What is your favorite costume?

“I don’t have a Halloween costume. I just give candy to little kids. Sometimes I dress up as scary things and scare them,” Catherine Gilmore, junior, said.

“I am going to be a bush,” Mark Hughes, freshman, said.

“I am going to wear white contacts where you can only see my pupils and wear all black,” Kendra Cross, sophomore, said.

“Me and three of my friends are going to be the ninja turtles, but we don’t know if that’s for sure yet,” Jarrod Bishop, junior, said.

“I am going wear a masquerade-type of costume,” Nina Strid, senior, said.

How old is too old to trick-or-treat?

“I trick-or-treated till I was like 12, so between 12-10,” Gilmore said.

“I don’t think you’re ever too old to trick-or-treat,” Bishop said.

“Never ever. You trick-or-treat all the way up until you have kids. Then you  take them trick-or-treating. It never stops,” Strid said.

Favorite Halloween candy?

“Jolly ranchers,” Hughes said.

“Reese’s all the way,” Cross said.

“Snickers,” Bishop said.

“I love when people give out the giant Kit Kat bars or the giant Hershey bars,” Strid said.

What is your favorite Halloween joke?

“What is green and has wheels? Grass, I lied about the wheels,” Hughes said.

“What do you get when you cross an elephant with a rhino? An albino,” Cross said.

What is your favorite part of Halloween?

“The candy, and watching scary movies,” Gilmore said.

“Seeing every ones costumes and hanging at the parties,” Cross said.

“I like that everyone is always in a good mood,” Strid said.
