Incoming German Students

School’s ending last spring meant free-time and sunshine for most, but not all. Twenty of KHS’ German III and IV students went to Hamburg, Germany to live with a student and go to school with him/her for three weeks. In turn, the KHS students who went overseas last June will house their “sibling” and take them to KHS to see what life is like in the United States this October.

Below is a listing of the students who participated in GAPP, along with their partner’s name, age and interests/activities.

KHS student: Paige Crowley, junior

Partner: Jaana Nebbe

Partner’s Age: 15

Interests/Activities: Jaana dances (ballet), enjoys watching movies and goes to Beach Club.

KHS student: Patrick Day, senior

Partner: Lukas Kuehn

Age: 16

Interests/Activities: Lukas plays the guitar and likes listening to music.

KHS student: Sean Campbell, junior

Partner: Niklas Janssen-Siebert

Age: 17

Interests/Activities: Niklas rows competitively and plays Ultimate Frisbee.

KHS student: Sam Wolter, junior

Partner: Oli Nesso

Age: 16

Interests/Activities: Oli likes computers, light design for theater, ping pong and riding bikes.

KHS student: Brad Skeens, junior

Partner: Jonas Gehrnann

Age: 14

Interests/Activities: Jonas plays soccer and likes music.

KHS student: Ben Sulser, junior

Partner:  Valentin Debus

Age: 17

Interests/Activities: Valentin plays tennis. He also enjoys going into Hamburg, hanging out with friends and the Beach Club.

Interests/Activities: Julius participates in Parkour (an activity in which the objective is to get from point A to point B by traversing obstacles in the most efficient way possible) and loves to play the guitar.

Interests/Activities: Florian hangs out with friends, plays soccer and plays on the computer.

Interests/Activities: Marius sings in a choir, plays PC games and appreciates Star Wars.

Interests/Activities: Michelle likes shopping, the outdoors and hanging out with friends.

Age: 16

Interests/Activities: Björn plays soccer a lot and took dance classes when KHS’ students were in Germany.

Partner: Mirjam Aβmann

Age: 15

Interests/Activities: Mirjam plays the flute and the piano, does ballroom dancing and is very good at speaking English and other languages.

Interests/Activities: Alexandra loves to go shopping, plays the saxophone, likes music and enjoys hanging out with friends.

Interests/Activities: Marie is in a choir and enjoys hanging out with friends.

Interests/Activities: Lilith plays both the clarinet and the piano.  She also takes part in ballroom dancing and “voltigieren,” which is a German sport that combines horse-riding and gymnastics.

Interests/Activities: Pauline is in choir, dances, does drama and really likes sailing.

Partner: Nadja Hasse

Age: 15

Interests/Activities: Nadja is a soccer player and also plays the Obo.

KHS student: Allison Lieb, senior

Parnter: Katja Tatsch

Age: 15

Interests/Activities: Katja plays the clarinet and runs a lot.

KHS student: Emma Stephenson, junior

Partner: Franciske Hohensee

Age: 15

Interests/Avtivities: Franciske also does “voltigierin,” golfs, plays the accordion and enjoys riding unicycles.
