Christmas music is a must for the holiday season, but when is it the right time for it?

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go.”

But when is it the right time to begin listening  to Christmas music? Winter is the season for snow, Sprite cranberry and best of all, the holiday season. However, there is the long lasting debate of when is it the right time to listen to Christmas music. Is it illegal to listen to Christmas music on Black Friday? Should it only be played during the month of December? Year round? The only right answer is that Christmas music should start blasting from the speakers the day right after Thanksgiving, up until Christmas day. This way, it’s promised that you will have a “Holly Jolly Christmas.”

Thanksgiving is the last major holiday before Christmas, which means that once all of the Thanksgiving festivities are over, it’s officially Christmas Time. Once Black Friday and Cyber Monday arrive, listening to Christmas songs puts you in the perfect mood to be “Santa’s little helper.”

Songs such as Winter Wonderland, Jingle Bells and It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas, are specific to the holiday season, which makes these songs the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit. Playing Christmas music during any other part of the year would ruin the joy the festive tunes bring. As you walk through the streets during the holiday season it is a guarantee you will hear holiday music blasting from the rooftops, it is very easy to get sick of the same songs being played over and over again. Imagine having to listen to these songs year round, your ears would fall off. Which makes it only right to listen to it exclusively during this holiday time.

Now, is it wrong to listen to a Mariah Carey song when it is not Christmas time? No. However, the time for blasting All I want for Christmas is You is set for the sacred time in between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Christmas songs are a staple for Christmas Time but that does not mean it should be a staple for the rest of the year too.
