Police Beat: 2/4-2/10

On Wednesday, 02-06-2013, at 2:12 p.m. officers received information about
an adult who had purchased a large amount of Sudafed from a number of stores
in the area to include Kirkwood. The individual was located and arrested in the
1200 block of South Kirkwood Road after he was found in possession of a large
amount of Sudafed. A subsequent search of the suspect’s home in St Clair, MO,
revealed all the necessary materials to operate a methamphetamine lab. The
investigation is ongoing.

On Wednesday, 02-06-2013, at 6:21 p.m. police stopped a motorist for a traffic
violation near the intersection of North Kirkwood Road and Adams Avenue. The
adult driver was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was
arrested.

On Thursday, 02-07-2013, at 12:49 p.m. officers were summoned to the 1200
block of South Kirkwood Road for a report of four thefts from vehicles. Two
vehicles had windows broken and electronics stolen while parked at an eatery in
the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road. Two other vehicles were broken into
on a nearby parking lot. One vehicle had nothing stolen while the other had a
handgun stolen.

On Thursday, 02-07-2013, at 3:36 p.m. a resident from the 200 block of
Monclay Court reported the unauthorized transfer of funds from her banking
account. The victim checked her bank account online and noticed a withdrawal
of $460.00 during the last week of January 2013. Further investigation by the
victim revealed the money was withdrawn and wired online via Western Union to
another country.

On Thursday, 02-07-2013, at 4:47 p.m. employees of a business in the 100
block of West Jefferson called police to report a suspicious person. An adult
that appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs entered the business
and wandered around for an extended amount of time. Officers located the
individual at a nearby business. The adult was arrested after marijuana and drug
paraphernalia were found in his possession.
