Police Beat: 3/11-3/17

On March 11, 2013, at 10:19 a.m. police responded to the 1800 block of
Brookcreek for a report of property destruction to a vehicle. The reporting party
advised the driver’s side window of his vehicle was shattered sometime over the
weekend. A second vehicle with a broken window was discovered by police in
the 800 block of Brookcreek. The damage to both vehicles appears to have been
made by a pellet gun.

On March 12, 2013 at 3:09 p.m. police handled a delayed report of credit card
theft. The victim reported on March 9, 2013, between 9:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m.,
unknown persons removed her wallet from her purse and took two credit cards
while she was at an eating establishment in the 100 block of East Jefferson
Avenue.

On March 14, 2013, at 10:00 p.m. police took a report of destruction of property
to a mailbox in the 1800 block of Cheswick. The resident reported the mailbox
was spray-painted sometime after 6:00 p.m. This was the second time within a
week the mailbox was damaged.

On March 14, 2013 at 10:21 p.m. police made an arrest for possession of
marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the 9900 block of Big Bend in Oakland.
Officers received a report of a possible intoxicated person at a business and
after investigation discovered the adult suspect in possession of the drugs and
paraphernalia. The case was referred to municipal court.

On March 16, 2013 at 2:01 a.m. police arrested an adult for driving while
intoxicated. Police received a report of a disturbance in the drive thru of a
restaurant in the 300 block of South Kirkwood Road involving a driver and
a pedestrian. Police responded and determined the driver of the vehicle was
intoxicated.
