Little League World Series: Dream on

There is one thing every boy dreams of before he even hits puberty. No, it’s not college, not his wedding day, not even his first kiss. It’s playing in the MLB. So let these kids keep on dreaming.

Sure, the Little League World Series does provide an early chance for 12-year-olds to show off their stuff on a big stage, but could possibly take away their chances of playing at an even higher level. Poor kids are throwing their arms out like they are hand-me–downs. Is the trip to Williamsport really worth it when your team loses due to a mercy rule? Canada lost by a score of 23-0 in a four-inning game to Chinese Taipei. In games like that, it’s not fun to watch, or for the Canadians to play. It’s an empty gas tank full of embarrassment. Not to mention all these youngsters are missing school back at home, which is extremely unfair.

Although a great idea to some, the Little League World Series seems to be a fastball to failure for those who participate in, and support it.
