Frances, junior, and Rachel Fechter, sophomore, give The Kirkwood Call an inside look on what its like being a part of the Fechter sisterhood.

The Kirkwood Call (KC): Describe your sister in one word.

    Frances (FF): Soft spoken.

    Rachel (RF): Unique.

KC: What would you do with $1,000,000?

FF:  I would travel a lot. I’ve never been out of the country so I would definitely do that.

    RF:  Go to Paris.

KC: What is a song that reminds you of your sister?

FF: Any One Direction song, she’s obsessed.

RF: ”Call Me Maybe” because we always blast it in the car on the way to school.

KC: What is your favorite T.V. show?

FF: The Office or One Tree Hill

RF: My all time favorite is Full House, its my go-to show.

KC: How much time do you spend together?

FF: A lot of time because she lives upstairs, probably 5-6. We have a class together too.

RF: On a school day I’ll see her in the morning, during yearbook and for some time after school.  We occasionally hang out to get food or go shopping.

KC: Who is more of a morning person?

    FF: Definitely Rachel, for sure.

RF: Definitely me because she’s really bad about waking up in the morning. It is so hard to wake her up. She the opposite of a morning person, she’s more of a night owl she stays up really late.

KC: What is your favorite food?

    FF: I like pizza.

RF: Tacos for sure because tacos have all the food groups and they’re delicious. It’s a win-win situation.

KC: What is your sister most likely to be doing on the weekends?

FF: She would be with her friends and she’s in band so she sometimes has some band things to do.

RF: Hanging out with her friends.

KC: Is she more like a sibling or a friend to you?

FF: More like a sibling. We fight like sisters do a lot but we get along most of the time though.

RF: We’re not exactly friends but were not enemies either, although we do fight sometimes. I can’t imagine life without her, it would be much more boring. Life can get complicated with her but we have more of a healthy sisterly relationship.

KC: What is the best memory you have had with your sibling?

FF: When I was five and she was four, we had a big box of Barbies and I left it sitting out and she thought it was smart to walk on the side of the box. She fell and got stitches and she thinks its my fault.

RF: Our aunt has Multiple Sclerosis and every year we do the walk together and raise money. Doing that together allows us to spend time together and helps the cause.

KC: Want to add anything else about your relationship?

FF: We’re opposites but she’s a pretty good sister.

RF: Even though we are different we still love and support each other.
