The Kirkwood Call: Are you excited about the Chinese language course being offered next year?

Andy Nelson, janitor
“It’s cool and different, since no other school seems to offer it. It’s going to be hard though, since they’ll have to learn to write the language.”

Tommy Summa, freshman
“I am not because it would be too difficult, since it is not of Latin origin.”

Carly Schmiedeskamp, junior
“Sort of, because Chinese is such a different language from any of the ones offered here.”

Brandon Richards, sophomore
“Yeah it would be cool. People want to learn languages other than Spanish, French and German.”

Eric Hasselschwert, German teacher
“No. I feel threatened since students that normally sign up for French or German might choose Chinese instead.”
