KHS takes precautionary lockdown

KHS takes precautionary lockdown
Trevor Currie

KHS was put on lockdown Wednesday, April 17 for about 10 minutes after two students were involved in an altercation. One ran away from the administrators and Chad Walton, resource officer. Although there was no threat of weapons, Dr. Mike Havener, principal, called for an immediate lockdown as a precaution. When the lockdown was over, Havener called and emailed parents to notify them of the situation. No students were hurt and the students involved will receive consequences according to the handbook, Havener said. “There was never a weapon involved,” Havener said. “There was an upset student running through the hallways, and for precautionary reasons that’s why we issued the lockdown.”
