Students who participated in the day of silence hug after the breaking of the silence Friday, April 15. “The day of silence is about remembering those people harassed, harmed or murdered for being L.B.G.T.Q. (Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay, Transvestite and/or Questioning) and are permanently silent today,” Sharon Taysi, sponsor of the event and of Kirkwood High School’s Gay-Straight Alliance, said.
