Police Beat: 1/13-1/19
On Monday, January 13, 2014, police received a report of larceny from a vehicle
that occurred sometime over the weekend on Barberry. An HP laptop was taken
from the unlocked vehicle.
On Monday, January 13, 2014, officers responded to a theft from a vehicle. The
victim, who resides in the 800 block of North Kirkwood Road, reported a handgun
stolen from a vehicle. The last time the handgun was seen was two months ago.
On Monday, January 13, 2014, police were summoned to the 1000 block of
Pinegate for a residential burglary. The resident returned home after being gone
over night to find rear patio door open and electronic items missing from the
residence.
On Wednesday, January 15, 2014, police took an identity theft report from a
victim in the 12500 block of Big Bend. The victim reported her information was
obtained by a computer company and an attempt to wire $500 was made to
India. The wire attempt was denied.
On Friday, January 17, 2014, police responded to a burglary of a business in the
400 block of South Kirkwood Road. The front door was pried by the suspect to
gain entry into the business. The cash drawer was removed from the business.
Kirkwood Police arrested three adults for shoplifting merchandise from an area
business during the week of Monday, 01-13-2014, through Sunday, 01-19-2014.
The incidents all occurred at a retail store in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood
Road. In one of the cases the suspect was also charged with possession of
controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The case was referred
to the St Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review. Another suspect
was charged with felony stealing due to having at least two previous theft-related
convictions. That case was referred to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for
review. The other theft case was referred to municipal court.
