Former KHS student James Columbus charged with murder
Former KHS student James Allen Columbus was charged with murder, attempted robbery and armed criminal action Tuesday, Aug. 29. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Columbus allegedly shot Joseph M. Lee, 19, on Pennsylvania Ave. in South St. Louis early Sunday morning. Columbus fled from the scene but information was turned over to the police from a confidential informant. He was arrested with bail set at $250,000. Columbus lived on the 400 block of New York Street in Kirkwood, according to police reports.

James was not set up by anyone! He killed the father of my son. Now my son will never get to know his father. James has 20 years but to me that’s not enough

James is not out on bail…the other guy is out walking around. I wonder why both aren’t out or both in jail. We think James may have been set up and is taking the fall for others.

I am a student at Bayless High School. I was wondering if you know why he was charged with murder but he was put on bail.
