Green Tree Parade Details
The Green Tree Parade will officially begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, 09-14-
2013, and is scheduled to conclude no later than noon. The parade route will
leave Kirkwood High School traveling east on Essex to Kirkwood Road, south on
Kirkwood Road to Argonne, then west on Argonne to conclude at the Kirkwood
Park Community Center, 111 South Geyer. The Kirkwood Police Department will
be closing the following streets promptly at 10:00 am. Residents and any visitors
are asked to move their vehicles from street parking no later than 10:00 a.m.
The streets will reopen at the conclusion of the parade.
No parking/ thru traffic- Kirkwood Road from Monroe Ave north to Jewel Ave
No parking/ thru traffic- West Essex from Kirkwood Road west to Chopin
No Parking/ thru traffic- West Argonne from Kirkwood Road west to Geyer
No Parking/ thru traffic- South Geyer from Monroe Ave north to Adams Ave
No thru traffic- North Geyer at Essex until parade clears intersection
Taylor Avenue will be the detour route and signs will be posted.

Police Beat
On Monday, September 2, 2013, at 5:23 p.m. police arrested a subject for
driving while intoxicated and driving while revoked in the 1200 block of South
Kirkwood Road. The case was referred to municipal court.
On Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at 7:33 p.m. police received a report of a theft
from a vehicle parked in the 700 block of Culloden. A GPS unit and wallet were
stolen.
On Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at 7:10 a.m. officers responded to a
residence in the 900 block of Robert for a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was stolen
sometime over the night.
On Wednesday, 09-04-2013, detectives arrested an adult male for writing four
bad checks to a local business in the 300 block of South Kirkwood Road. The
checks were written to the business between the last week of June and the
second week of July 2013. The four checks totaled over $90. The cases were
referred to municipal court.
On Thursday, September 5, 2013, at 12:33 p.m. police responded to the 500
block of East Monroe for a report of property destruction. The resident stated the
key lock on his vehicle had been damaged.
On Friday, September 6, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. police responded to the 300 block of
North Taylor for two separate reports of vehicle break-ins. Two victims had their
windows broken out of their cars. Clothing, a purse, and a GPS unit were stolen.
On Sunday, September 8, 2013, at 8:08 a.m. police responded to the 1200 block
of South Kirkwood Road for a larceny from a vehicle. A purse was stolen from a
vehicle while parked at a business.
On Sunday, September 8, 2013 at 8:12 p.m. police received a report of a larceny
in the 800 block of West Essex. A window was broken at the Kirkwood High
School concession stand. Approximately $30 worth of candy was stolen.
Kirkwood Police arrested four adults for shoplifting merchandise from an area
business during the week of Monday, 09-02-2013, through Sunday, 09-08-2013.
The incidents occurred at a retail store in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood
Road. Three of the cases were referred to municipal court. One of the subjects
was charged with felony stealing due to two previous theft-related convictions.
The felony case was referred to state court.
