Police Beat: 9/16-9/22
On Monday, September 16, 2013, at 8:13 a.m. police recovered a stolen vehicle
in the 9000 block of Big Bend in Oakland. The vehicle was reported stolen from
Crestwood on September 4, 2013. The vehicle was towed to impound and
Crestwood Police were notified of the recovery.
On Monday, September 16, 2013, at 8:41 a.m. police responded to a report of a
burglary in the 1300 block of South Kirkwood Road. The suspect gained entry to
the building however it appears nothing was taken.
On Monday, September 16, 2013, at 9:35 a.m. officers received a report of a
stolen vehicle from the 2300 block of Timberview. A blue 2002 Jeep Liberty was
stolen sometime during the overnight hours.
On Monday, September 16, 2013, at 11:18 a.m. police responded to the 1800
block of North Signal Hills for a report of property damage. The victim reported
that sometime overnight unknown persons attempted to steal his truck.
On Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at 6:14 p.m. police responded to a
residence in the 100 block of East Rose Hill for a residential burglary. A side
window was broken on the residence and several tools were stolen.
On Thursday, September 19, 2013, at 6:12 p.m. officers received a report of a
theft from a vehicle parked in the 300 block of North Taylor. A purse containing
credit cards and cash was stolen from the vehicle.
On Friday, September 20, 2013, at 3:59 a.m. police responded to a business
alarm in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road. Police arrived and discovered
that someone had attempted to again entry through a rear door. No entry was
made.
On Saturday, September 21, 2013, at 2:22 p.m. police recovered a boy’s bicycle
in the 2000 block of Briargate. The bicycle was brought to the station awaiting
owner.
Kirkwood Police arrested an adult for shoplifting merchandise from an area
business during the week of Monday, 09-16-2013, through Sunday, 09-22-2013.
The incident occurred at a retail store in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road.
The subject was charged with trespassing, which was referred to municipal court
and felony stealing, which was referred to state court.
