Police Beat: 2/17-2/23
On Monday, February 17, 2014 police received a report of identity theft from
a victim in the 500 block of North Taylor. The victim stated a personal loan
of $750.00 had been secured in his name. After checking with a preventative
identity theft company, the victim learned there were several attempts to gain
other loans using his personal information.
On Monday, February 17, 2014 police issued summons to two individuals for
trespassing on Union Pacific railroad property near the North Clay overpass at the
Union Pacific railroad. Both cases were referred to municipal court.
On Tuesday, February 18, 2014 police responded to a report of stolen vehicle
in the 11700 block of Cragwold. The vehicle, a Chevy Corvette convertible
was stolen from the parking lot. The vehicle was located in Sunset Hills on
Wednesday, February 19, 2014. One suspect was charged with felony stealing.
The suspect was transferred to the St Louis County Jail and held on $15,000
bond. The vehicle was returned to the owner.
On Wednesday, February 19, 2014 officers responded to a larceny of a wallet in
the 100 block of East Woodbine. The victim reported she was contacted by her
credit card company and advised of possible fraudulent purchase. The victim then
discovered her wallet was missing.
On Friday, February 21, 2014 police responded to the 300 block of Rose Lane
for a residential burglary report. The resident returned home to find entry was
gained to the residence through a rear door. Jewelry was stolen from the home.
On Saturday, February 22, 2014 officers were dispatched to a report of a stolen
vehicle from Interstate 270. The victim reported leaving 2001 black Dodge
Durango on the shoulder of the interstate because it was broken down. The
owner had made arrangements with a tow company to retrieve the vehicle. When
the tow company arrived to retrieve the vehicle it was missing.
Kirkwood Police arrested four adults for shoplifting merchandise from an area
business during the week of Monday, 02-17-2014, through Sunday, 02-23-2014.
All four incidents occurred at a retail store 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road.
The cases were referred to municipal court.
