Mizzou makes the upset

Quick Breakdown:
Upset in Columbia, the Tigers of Missouri comeback and beat the No. 5 Florida Gators in a nail bitter Tuesday. Throughout much of the game, the Tigers were behind by double digits until the last three minutes when they cleaned the deficit. With 2:51 left to play the Tigers cleared the Gators lead when Phil Pressey scored a layup and gave the Tigers a 57-58 lead. The Tigers would finish out the last 2:51 with the lead and won 63-60. The upset was a great one and most of the credit has to be given to Laurence Bowers who scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the victory.

Saturday Mizzou played away at Kentucky, where they would be in for another road battle. The Tigers,  1-6 on the road, were playing a weakened Wildcats team who was missing their best player in Nerlens Noel. The game seemed to be in favor of Missouri, but the Tigers road losing streak stood in the way. The game constantly changed leads and ended up going into overtime. Phil Pressey dominated the game for the Tigers with 27 points, but unfortunately the Wildcats scored four in the last 33 seconds clinching a 90-83 win for Kentucky.

The games this week were great with the upset win, but then sad with the road loss. Mizzou entered the week 18-7 and came out 19-8. The Tigers go into their second to last week of the regular season playing at South Carolina on Thursday then at home versus LSU on Saturday. The team should come out victorious in both and gain a lot of momentum into the final week.
