Police Beat: 11/17-11/23
On Tuesday, November 18, 2014 a patron of a business in the 1200 block of
South Kirkwood Road reported a theft to police. The victim had her wallet stolen
from her purse while shopping. The wallet was recovered inside the business with
the cash missing.
On Tuesday, November 18, 2014 police were dispatched to a destruction of
property report in the 100 block of South Taylor. A window pane was broken on a
door to an area church.
On Tuesday, November 18, 2014 officers responded to the 10300 block of
Manchester Road for a larceny. Numerous marine batteries were stolen from a
locked storage area of a business.
On Wednesday, November 19, 2014 police received a report of theft from a
vehicle parked in the 10800 block of Manchester Road. The victim noticed a coat
and cash were missing from his vehicle after having the vehicle serviced at a
local business.
On Friday, November 21, 2014 a resident from the 900 block of North Clay
reported a stolen vehicle. The victim had left the vehicle running, unattended in
the driveway. The vehicle was later located in St. Louis City after it was involved
in a vehicle crash. Detectives are investigating.
Kirkwood Police arrested seven adults for shoplifting merchandise from area
businesses in the 1000 and 1200 blocks of South Kirkwood Road during the
week of Monday, 11-17-14, through Sunday, 11-23-2014. Two of the suspects
were charged with felony stealing-third offense due to the suspects having at
least two prior theft-related convictions. Those cases were turned over to the St
Louis Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review. The other cases were referred to
municipal court.
