Police Beat: 4/20-4/26

On Monday, April 20, 2015, police were notified of a destruction of property report at a residence in the 500 block of West Essex. The rear window of the victim’s vehicle had been broken by an unknown object.

 

On Tuesday, April 21, 2015, police received a report of a fraudulent use of a credit card from a victim. The victim reported a cloned credit card used at businesses in the 1000 block and 1100 block of South Kirkwood Road.

 

On Wednesday, April 22, 2015, police were notified to respond to a business in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road for a report of a subject attempting to obtain fraudulent prescriptions.  Officers arrived, and arrested an adult male.  The male never received the prescription medication.  The case will be referred to the St Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review.

 

On Friday, 04-24-2015, officers were summoned to the 1000 block of South Kirkwood Road for a report of a suspicious item.  A citizen reported finding a piece of PVC with taped ends.  Officers quickly established a safe zone and notified St Louis County Bomb and Arson.  After they responded the item was found to be inert.  No injuries were reported and due to the location of the item no businesses were evacuated.  Detectives are investigating the incident.

 

On Friday, April 24, 2015, police received a report of suspicious activity behind a building in the 800 block of Couch. The caller reported seeing subjects drinking alcoholic beverages behind the building. Three subjects were located.  After investigation, one of the subjects was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of alcohol by a minor.

 

On Friday, April 24, 2015, officers were called to a business in the 1000 block of South Kirkwood Road for an employee stealing from the business. The employee was arrested after being observed voiding transactions at a register. The case was referred to municipal court.

 

On Saturday, April 25, 2015 officers were dispatched to destruction of property to a vehicle in the 500 block of South Kirkwood Road. The rear passenger window of the vehicle had been broken out. There was nothing stolen from the vehicle.

 

On Sunday, April 26, 2015, police were dispatched to the area of Big Bend and South Kirkwood Road for a report of a subject slumped at the wheel of a vehicle.  Officers arrived and located an adult in a vehicle.  The adult was not injured and the vehicle was not involved in an accident.  The adult was intoxicated and arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.  The case was referred to municipal court.

 

Kirkwood Police arrested two adults for shoplifting merchandise from an area business located in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road from Monday, 04-20-2015, through Sunday, 04-26-2015. The cases were referred to municipal court.
